Today's Text: Mat. 11:19.Prov.18:24
Matt 11:19 (KJS) The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say,
Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But
wisdom is justified of her children.
Prov 18:24 (KJS) A man [that hath] friends must shew himself friendly:
and there is a friend [that] sticketh closer than a brother.
Who is this friend of the friendless?
Friend Day..Jesus is our Friend and Who is he and what has he done as
our friend..Who is this friend called Jesus?
There are two hundred and fifty-six names given in the Bible for the
Lord Jesus Christ, and I suppose this was because He was infinitely beyond all that any one
name could express. Billy Sunday, in a sermon, "Wonderful," quoted in The Real
Billy Sunday He began His ministry by being hungry, yet He is the Bread of Life. Jesus
ended His earthly ministry by being thirsty, yet He is the Living Water. Jesus was
weary, yet He is our rest. Jesus paid tribute, yet He is the King. Jesus was accused of
having a demon, yet He cast out demons. Jesus wept, yet He wipes away our tears. Jesus
was sold for thirty pieces of silver, yet He redeemed the world. Jesus was brought as
a lamb to the slaughter, yet He is the Good Shepherd. Jesus died, yet by His death He

13. Mediator between Man and God..the God-Man: the friend who cares
that we brought together with God .. that he is the way , the truth and the life..
1Tim 2:5 For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men,
the man Christ Jesus; Messenger of the Covenant..the friend who brings or is the good news of
the new covenant or promise or testament of God to man..
Mala 3:1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way
before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the
messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD
of hosts. Morning Star: the friend who shows the way to aLL those who desire to
go to God.. He is the light...
Reve 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these
things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, [and] the bright and
morning star.
14. Nazarene: A friend who comes from a town that does not have a good
reputation for producing the best of men. He did not take on Himself a
great reputation.. but was humbled to die for us..
Matt 2:23 And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it
might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.
John 1:46 (KJS) And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of
Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.
15. Our Passover: A friend who picked up the bill for our salvation ..
It cost Him his life as he became the sacrificial lamb..
1Cor 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump,
as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
16. Power of God: true God is seen in his friend ship of us all.. true
power of God is humbleness to bow the knee before
1Cor 1:24 (KJS) But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks,
Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
Physician,, A Friend who cares for everyone and comes to help everyone
find the healing that they need in their life..
Matt 9:11 (KJS) And when the Pharisees saw [it], they said unto his
disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
12 But when Jesus heard [that], he said unto them, They that be whole
need not a physician, but they that are sick.
13 But go ye and learn what [that] meaneth, I will have mercy, and not
sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Prince of Peace: Let this friend bring true peace to your life..He is the
prince of peace..
Isai 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the
government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful,
Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
He is the friend who brings us to the Father. The Messenger who is the
light and the way to the Father. He cares enough to go to us to bring us to the
Father. He is the friend who comes from an unexpected place. The one from
Nazareth.He chose his home of origin and he chose a place of no reputation because
He is God. He is the friend who picks up the bill for our sin.
Rom. 6:23 He pays our wages. He is our sacrifice and "Our Passover.
He is the friend who makes house calls as the Great "Physician" and our
Prince of Peace.He makes peace in our lives , in our families, and in our church.
He is the Prince.
